Paṭhamabodhisuttaṃ: Prima sutra a Trezirii

Astfel am auzit: odata, Fericitul isi petrecea timpul la Uruvela, pe malurile raului Nerañjara, la radacina copacului Trezirii, imediat dupa Trezirea completa. Si in acea vreme, Fericitul era asezat de sapte zile, experimentand bucuria eliberarii. Atunci, Fericitul, dupa ce au trecut cele sapte zile, ridicandu-se din acel samadhi, in prima veghe a noptii, a reflectat profund la aparitia conditionata in ordine directa:

“Aceasta fiind astfel, se intampla aceasta; deoarece apare aceasta, se produce aceasta, adica: conditionate de ignoranta se nasc tendintele subconstiente, conditionata de tendintele subconstiente se naste constiinta, conditionate de constiinta se nasc numele si forma, conditionate de nume si forma se nasc cele sase domenii ale simturilor, conditionat de cele sase domenii ale simturilor se naste contactul, conditionata de contact se naste senzatia, conditionata de senzatie se naste pofta, conditionat de  pofta se naste atasamentul, conditionata de atasament se naste devenirea, conditionata de devenire se produce nasterea, conditionate de nastere se produc batranetea si moartea, mahnirea, suspinul, durerea, proasta dispozitie si agitatia. Astfel este aparitia aceastei intregi mase de suferinta“.

Astfel, Fericitul, cunoscand aceasta semnificatie, a spus, cu acea ocazie, vorba aceasta:

“Cu adevarat, atunci cand fenomenele ii devin cunoscute brahmanului ascet contemplativ, toate indoielile sale dispar, caci intelege natura obiectelor conditionate“.

[original: evaṃ me sutaṃ ekaṃ samayaṃ bhagavā uruvelāyaṃ viharati najjā nerañjarāya tīre bodhirukkhamūle paṭhamābhisambuddho । tena kho pana samayena bhagavā sattāhaṃ ekapallaṅkena nisinno hoti vimuttisukhapaṭisaṃvedī । atha kho bhagavā tassa sattāhassa accayena tamhā samādhimhā vuṭṭhahitvā rattiyā paṭhamaṃ yāmaṃ paṭiccasamuppādaṃ anulomaṃ sādhukaṃ manasākāsi । iti imasmiṃ sati idaṃ hoti imassuppādā idaṃ uppajjati yadidaṃ avijjāpaccayā saṇkhārā saṇkhārapaccayā viññāṇaṃ viññāṇapaccayā nāmarūpaṃ nāmarūpapaccayā saḻāyatanaṃ saḻāyatanapaccayā phasso phassapaccayā vedanā vedanāpaccayā taṇhā taṇhāpaccayā upādānaṃ upādānapaccayā bhavo bhavapaccayā jāti jātipaccayā jarāmaraṇaṃ sokaparidevadukkhadomanass’upāyāsā sambhavanti । evametassa kevalassa dukkhakkhandhassa samudayo hotī’ti । atha kho bhagavā etamatthaṃ viditvā tāyaṃ velāyaṃ udānaṃ udānesi । yadā have pātubhavanti dhammā ātāpino jhāyato brāhmaṇassa ath’assa kaṅkhā vapayanti sabbā yato pajānāti sahetudhamman’ti ॥ ]
